Caprice Dreams: Slab City

About the book

Jabari is alive. Cleared on paper. But in Jacksonville, that doesn’t mean a thing.

After a shooting leaves him the city’s prime suspect, Jabari and his pregnant girlfriend Mia pack what they can and take I-10 west. The plan is simple: lay low in Houston, let the streets cool off, and come back when it’s safe. But Q Dolla doesn’t wait. And neither does life.

In Pearland, Jabari finds a cousin with his own debt, a city with its own culture, and a race scene that doesn’t know his name yet, but he will. Mia finds something she didn’t expect: a desk with her name on it, a mentor who demands excellence, and a future that doesn’t depend on what Jacksonville thinks of her.

Back home, the shop is fighting to survive. Reese is tired of being the footnote. T-Ham is holding secrets that could bury everything. And Chez is in Miami making choices he can’t take back.

When Jabari finally returns to Jacksonville, it won’t be as the man who ran. It’ll be on his terms, with Big Red on the trailer, his crew at his back, and a race that will settle six months of street narrative in front of everyone who wrote him off.

But somebody else has been moving while he was gone. And winning the race is only the beginning.

Caprice Dreams: Slab City continues the Caprice Dreams series: a raw, high-stakes story of loyalty, legacy, and what it costs to protect what you built.
